We arrived from our flight at 1 a.m. The night receptionist was the friendliest I've met for a long time. Spotlessly clean room and pristine bathroom. Both a very good size. Fridge and a safe in the room. Reception staff who checked us out were very friendly too. Breakfast was OK - good selection of fresh fruit. Decent coffee. For the location, this hotel is very good value. Best to get an internally facing room as the street outside can be noisy at all hours. We would return, but only if guaranteed an internal room. (I speak from direct experience. I recently had a room in nearby Hotel Liabeny facing Calle de la Abada. People shouting all night. Had to change rooms in the middle of the night to get some sleep.)

A nice hotel right at the heart of Madrid. It is our 4th or 5th stay at II Castillas in Madrid as the hotel is right in the center of the city, close to Metro station, all the main sightseeing and shopping streets. The room we got this time was just awesome, very spacious, with many windows (there was a window even in the bathroom), super clean! Not that much variety at breakfast especially if you are a vegan, but still you will have good food and coffee to start your day with, People at the Reception were super friendly, check-in /check-out process is very quick, were always open to help with any question or issue. Will definitely stay at this hotel when we are next in Madrid

Our first time in Madrid. Staff did all they could to make us feel at home, including being generous with my first attempts to use the Spanish I'd been learning. Room was lovely. Beds very comfy. Bathroom was nice and clean. A lift was available which was helpful for our arrival and departure with suitcases. The breakfast was downstairs in the basement restaurant which was livening. Self service with staff on hand re supplying and attending to tables where needed. There were many breakfast options and options for those with allergies. Restaurant/bar attached to ground floor lobby was very good, for tapas, a main meal or a drink or coffee.

The room was small but had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. It was immaculately clean, and very warm. We opted for the breakfast which was plentiful with a good selection from yoghurt and fruit to cooked items as well as pastries and cereal, would definitely recommend. The location was great, walking distance to many bars restaurants and shopping, also very close to metro, so easy access to all areas and places of interest.

The room was a good size. The pushed together twin beds were comfortable (though we asked for a double). The bathroom was a good size. Everywhere was clean. It had a (tiny) fridge. There was a safe in the room. The breakfast was just continental, but good enough. The location was very central and there was cafe/bar attached to the hotel. The staff were all nice. There was a lift.
